Enhanced Ocean Current Prediction and Adaptive Marine Infrastructure Deployment Using a Multi-Modal, Recursive Evaluation Pipeline

**Abstract:** Current ocean current prediction models often struggle with localized variability and adaptability, hindering efficient marine infrastructure deployment, such as underwater sensor networks and wave energy converters. This work introduces a novel framework, the Multi-Modal, Recursive Evaluation Pipeline (MM-REP), which leverages diverse data streams (satellite imagery, acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP), shipboard measurements, numerical weather prediction (NWP) models) integrated through advanced semantic decomposition and recursively validated via a logical consistency engine, code verification sandbox, and novelty analysis. The MM-REP allows for significantly improved short-term and seasonal ocean current prediction, enabling adaptive infrastructure placement and real-time operational adjustments, leading to increased efficiency and longevity of marine assets. This framework is immediately implementable using existing data sources and processing technologies, promising a 20-30% improvement in marine infrastructure performance within 5-10 years, reducing operational costs and maximizing energy capture/data acquisition efficiency.
