Antimicrobial Potential of Semi synthesized Morin Derivatives: Evaluation against Gram-Positive and Gram-Negative
Semi synthesized morin derivatives, derived from the naturally occurring flavonoid morin (3,5,7,2',4'-pentahydroxyflavone), are increasingly recognized as promising antimicrobial agents due to their ability to inhibit both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial potential of morin and twenty semi synthetic analogues against Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using the cup-plate diffusion method, with ciprofloxacin serving as the reference drug at 100 μg/ml concentration.
