EFFECT OF LEADERSHIP STYLE ON LEADERS EMPLOYEES RELATIONSHIP: IN CASE OF PUBLIC ORGANIZATION IN GOBA TOWN, OROMIA REGIONAL STATE, ETHIOPIA

The general purpose of study is to identify the effect of leadership style on leader-employees relationship: in case of public organization in Goba town. This study employed descriptive and explanatory research design to realize the stated objective. Mixed research approach quantitative and qualitative was employed in conducting this study. Both primary and secondary data were collected. İn this study, quantitative research design was employed in which 145 questionnaires to leader and employees were distributed. For data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Pearsons correlation and regression analysis were used to present the inferential statistics of the data obtained to explain relationship research. The leadership style dimensions, transformational leadership style statements scored mean ranges from the smallest 3.432 (I have total confidence in my leader.) to the largest 3.818 (My leader help others to develop their strengths). The transformational leadership style is found to be with a mean score, M=3.6188 which is a highly moderate agreement. In general, the transformational leadership style, which is an aggregate of eight (8) sub-dimensions statements, is then evaluated to have been practiced to the level M=3.6188 and this result shows that Goba town public organizations has moderately practicing transformational leadership style. The findings indicate that 81.6% of leader employee relationship is explained by the independent variables, the remaining 18.4% is not explained by the model. The demographic variables have no significant impact on predicting the dependent variables. The researcher recommends based on the conclusion above as follows. Leaders can follow up mistakes of employees and take corrective measures before problems arise to decrease leader employee relationship for this reason, interaction of their relationship should be carried out regularly.2
