Maranta (Calatheastrum) Schuman 1902

Maranta subgen. Calatheastrum Schuman (1902: 124) = Maranta subgen. Friedrichsthalia Schuman (1902: 124) syn. nov. = Maranta subgen. Koernickea Schuman (1902: 124) syn. nov. = Myrosma Linnaeus f. (1782: 80) syn. nov. = Koernickanthe Andersson (1981: 240) syn. nov. = Hylaeanthe A.M.E. Jonker & Jonker (1955: 175) syn. nov. Type: Maranta humilis Aublet (1775: 4). Diagnosis: Habit rosulate or procumbent, unbranched to few branched synflorescences. Note: Calatheastrum was selected from the three subgenus names of Schuman (1902) that have equal priority, because the other two names are already in use at genus rank and could therefore cause confusion.
