"Зеленый" водород - новый вид криогенного ресурса в горных районах Cеверо-Востока России

The article substantiates the prospects for developing a new type of artificial cryogenic resource, "green" hydrogen obtained by using natural cryogenic resources. The raw material for it is ultrafresh, often chlorine-free waters of mountain streams, the formation of which is predetermined by feeding with atmospheric precipitation, spread of continuous cryolithozone, absence of watersoluble rocks, active water exchange and its low power. For water electrolysis, it is feasible to use the electricity from solar power plants (SPP) in continental areas and/or wind power plants (WPP) on the sea coasts. In the continental conditions of the Russia's North-East of (RNE), clear weather prevails in April through September, the average annual wind speed is under 3 m/s. The annual amount of direct solar radiation in clear weather reaches 9433-9824 MJ/m2. It is important that 82-85 % of radiation occurs in April-September. Therefore, working for six months, the solar power plants in the region would generate electricity in an amount equal to that from the annual work of solar power plants in warm climate countries. On the sea coasts, due to increased cloudiness, the work of solar power plants is not productive. The prevailing average annual wind speed exceeding 4 m/s is optimal for the operation of wind power plants. The article provides a rationale for the reality of organizing the most commercially profitable production of "green" hydrogen in the conditions of the RNE and emphasizes the need for detailed scientific research into its underground storage.
