Fault Diagnosis of Antenna Array via Phase Retrieval and Sparsity Promotion Using Phaseless Measurements

A novel array antenna fault diagnosis method based on phase retrieval and sparsity promotion using phaseless measurements is proposed. This method significantly reduces the number of required measurements while maintaining diagnostic accuracy. The complex-valued fault indicator is introduced to characterize the fault states of array elements. To simplify the diagnostic process, the inherently nonlinear problem is first reformulated into a linear one. Subsequently, a sparse variable is constructed and an appropriate norm is employed to promote its sparsity. Finally, the problem is transformed into a convex optimization problem, enabling an efficient and straightforward solution. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated through extensive numerical simulations and experimental measurements.
