PERAN GURU BIMBINGAN DAN KONSELING (BK) DALAM MEMBANGUN IKLIM KELAS YANG POSITIF UNTUK MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA MELALUI PENDEKATAN HUMANISTIK DI SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 06 MEDAN

ABSTRACTThis study examines the role of Guidance andCounseling (BK) teachers in building a positive classroomclimate through a humanistic approach at SMKMuhammadiyah 06 Medan and its impact on student learningmotivation. The background of this study is based on thelearning challenges faced by SMK Muhammadiyah 06 Medanstudents, which stem not only from the curriculum andtechnical competencies, but also from psychological andemotional aspects. Using a qualitative case study approach,data were collected through direct observation, in-depthinterviews, and documentation of interaction with BKteachers, principals, subject teachers, homeroom teachers,and students. The results of the study indicate that BKteachers have a strategic role as facilitators who fully supportstudents' basic needs in accordance with Abraham Maslow'stheory and Carl Rogers' principles. The application of ahumanistic approach has proven effective in creating anemotionally safe classroom atmosphere, respecting students'abilities, and encouraging students to be actively involvedand motivated to learn from within themselves. However,obstacles were found, such as gadget addiction, low self-confidence, a lack of support from students' parents, andtheir environment. This research provides theoretical andpractical contributions to the development of guidance andcounseling services in vocational schools and highlights theimportance of collaboration between teachers, parents, andschools in creating a learning environment that supportsstudents' psychological well-being.
