Correlation effects of Seed bio priming on long term storage on seed quality parameters on Moong Bean (Vigna radiata L.)

A two-year Lab experiment was conducted during 2023 and 2024 at Seed testing laboratory, Department of seed science and technology ANDUAT, Kumarganj, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The objective of the research was to evaluate the correlation effects of seed bio priming on long term storage on seed quality parameters of moong bean (green gram). The study was carried out on two green gram varieties: NDM-1 (sourced from ANDUAT, Kumarganj, Ayodhya) and Sikha (sourced from IIPR, Kanpur). Seeds were bio primed using two biological control agents Pseudomonas fluorescens and Trichoderma viride at different concentrations. In addition, two liquid biofertilizers Azospirillum and Phosphobacteria were applied at 20% concentrations, respectively. The experiment followed a complete randomized block design (CRD) with four replications at different storage period i.e., 3,6 and 9 months. The experiment comprised of seven bio priming along with hydro priming and control. A study on long term storage revealed that the positive correlation effect of seed germination on seed viability, speed of germination, seedling length, seedling vigour index I and seedling vigour index II while negative correlation effects on seed borne diseases. As similar, moisture content shows negative correlation effects on seed germination, speed of germination, seedling length, seedling vigour index I and seedling vigour index II while positive correlation effects on Seed borne diseases.
