Design solutions used in capital repair of radiation diagnostics rooms in medical facilities

Availability of radiation diagnostics rooms in medical facilities is a necessary condition for providing quality and timely medical care to patients. Therefore, they should be given special attention when planning the organization and carrying out capital repair of medical facilities. Despite the availability of literature, the issues of complex analysis of finishing solutions used in the capital repair of radiology diagnostic rooms, as well as recommendations for the use of these or those finishing solutions are still relevant. The aim of this study is a complex analysis of finishing solutions used in the capital repair of radiotherapy diagnostic rooms of medical facilities. The authors analyze the regulatory documents, study the design and working documentation of the realized and under construction objects of the Moscow region. The authors highlight the key regulatory requirements for materials: ensuring radiation, sanitary-hygienic, fire safety, as well as ensuring durability and strength. During the analysis of finishing solutions used during capital repairs of X-ray procedure rooms and control rooms in medical institutions of the Moscow region, common approaches were revealed. The common finishing solution for the walls of X-ray procedure rooms was gypsum-metal panels, for the control room — gypsum-vinyl panels. Suspended ceilings of Armstrong or Clip-inn cassette type were used for ceilings, and homogeneous linoleum and homogeneous antistatic linoleum were used for floors. As X-ray protection the finishing of structures with painted lead sheets, installed in overlapping inside the pie of structures, as well as the use of X-ray-protective doors, windows and shutters, also containing lead equivalent, served as X-ray protection. These finishing solutions demonstrated a high degree of compliance with the normative requirements for finishing materials of radiation diagnostics rooms and can serve as an example for designers.
