Comparison of pumping mechanism for various cementitious materials
This study investigates the pumping mechanisms within pipes during the pumping of various cementitious materials, including normal concrete, 3D printing concrete, and high-density mortar. The distinct rheological properties of each material were assessed using rheological measurements, which facilitated the analysis of their behavior during pumping. Pumping experiments were conducted to evaluate the physical properties of the materials under varying conditions of pumping pressure, flow rate, and filling rate. By systematically comparing and analyzing the results, this study offers a comprehensive understanding of the pumping mechanisms for these three cementitious materials, ensuring the accurate assessment and optimization of their pumping performance. • Pumping mechanisms were analyzed through rheological tests and full-scale pumping experiments. • The pumping mechanism affects the evaluation and prediction of the pumping performance of materials. • Analysis enables accurate evaluation and optimization of cementitious materials’ pumping performance.
