Features of Nonlinear Oscillations and Acoustic Streaming in a Closed Resonator

Nonlinear effects in a gas-filled resonator under wave action in the mode of transition to shock waves are investigated theoretically. The simulated cylindrical half-wave resonator is a tube with one end closed and a piston that oscillates harmonically at the other. An analytical and numerical solutions for resonant gas oscillations are obtained. The time dependencies of the pressure amplitude are calculated, the shape of which near the resonance frequency is close to discontinuous and coincides with the experimental one. Good quantitative agreement between theoretical and experimental amplitude-frequency characteristics is observed. The character of the acoustic flow calculated analytically and numerically at the first natural frequency coincides.
