The Effect of Career Exploration and Self-Efficacy on Teacher Career Decision Making
Career decision-making is a crucial aspect of an individual's life, especially for students preparing for their professional future. This study aims to assess the impact of self-efficacy and career exploration on career decision-making ability. The research was conducted quantitatively using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results showed that self-efficacy contributed positively and significantly to career decision-making, with a path coefficient of 0.440 and a T-statistic of 10.552 (p < 0.000). Meanwhile, career exploration has a greater influence with a path coefficient of 0.485 and a T-statistic of 11.843. These results indicate that increasing self-efficacy and career exploration activities are directly related to improving the quality of career decision-making. Therefore, the results of this study confirm the importance of implementing career development programs in higher education that focus on strengthening self-efficacy and encouraging students to explore their career options. Thus, career exploration and self-efficacy have a significant influence on teachers' career decision-making.
