Beyond Saltatory Conduction: Closed Surface Dynamics, Pauli Principle, and the Emergence of Consciousness
This paper proposes a Closed Surface Dynamics model as an alternative to traditional saltatory conduction in neuroscience. While classical models explain neural signaling through ion-based propagation along axons, they fail to account for the instantaneity and simultaneity of sensory perception observed in humans and other animals. In this work, neural and glial systems are reinterpreted as molecular closed loops, where disturbances propagate quasi-instantaneously through structural continuity rather than ion hopping alone. The model is consistent with the Pauli exclusion principle, as no two vector states within the closed surface are identical, yet their global sum remains zero. A new sensory equation is introduced: which describes effective sensory signal strength as a ratio of deviation from a baseline state and its temporal differentiation. Finally, the paper argues that consciousness emerges as a resonant interference pattern at the boundary between inward-directed (mass-generating) and outward-directed (space-generating) normals of closed surfaces. This framework integrates physics, biology, and cognitive science into a coherent geometry-based account of sensation and subjectivity.
