"THE ROLE OF DIGITAL GAMES IN ENHANCING VOCABULARY IN GUJARATI LANGUAGE EDUCATION,"

The Role of Digital Games in Enhancing Vocabulary in Gujarati Language Education: An Experimental Study The integration of technology in education has revolutionized traditional teaching methodologies. Digital game-based learning (DGBL) has emerged as a powerful pedagogical tool to enhance student engagement and knowledge retention. In the context of Gujarati language education, students often struggle with vocabulary acquisition due to reliance on rote memorization techniques. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of digital games in enhancing vocabulary retention among Gujarati language students compared to conventional teaching methods. The study utilizes a quasi-experimental research design, with data collected from a sample of 200 students from schools in Ahmedabad,. The experimental group was exposed to a custom-designed Gujarati vocabulary app, while the control group received traditional instruction. Findings indicate a significant improvement in vocabulary scores and long-term retention for the experimental group. The results of this study are expected to be valuable for educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers in integrating effective digital tools into regional language education.
