STUDY OF CHANGES IN COAL MOISTURE CONTENT AT DIFFERENT AIR FLOW RATES

Dust pollution in work areas is a very dangerous phenomenon that significantly affects the health of employees. The source of dust generation is various technological processes at enterprises, coal stacking, mineral dust from tailing pits, etc. A particularly important aspect is to reduce the intensity of dust formation at industrial sites. For this purpose, it is very common to use water supply to the surface of dust formation. However, over time, the humidity of the wetted surface decreases, so it is important to determine the time when the next supply is needed. The article presents the results of laboratory studies to determine the dynamics of coal moisture reduction at different air flow rates. On the basis of the obtained experimental results, an empirical model was built to determine the time when it is necessary to repeat the irrigation of the dust formation surface. A numerical model for estimating the concentration of water vapor near the surface of dust formation is presented.
