Attitudes toward mathematics through gamification

One of the current concerns in the educational context is the poor attitudes towards mathematics, so the present research aimed to evaluate the effect of gamification on attitudes towards mathematics in students of the Cañete 2024 Higher Technological Institute. For this, the methodology was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design and a sample of 40 students divided into two groups: control and experimental, each with 20 students in its composition. To evaluate attitudes towards mathematics, the questionnaire was used, which was validated through expert judgment and with Cronbach's Alpha reliability = 0.914. In relation to the results, significant differences were reported in both groups, but with a greater difference in the experimental group and in coherence with the inferential analysis based on the data extracted from the student's t-test, the impact or positive effect of gamification on attitudes towards mathematics was determined with a value in Cohen's d = 13.71990, which demonstrates relevant positive effects.
