FETI_Artigo Técnico_Análise e Controle de Ruído em Sistemas de Climatização
This article aims to present a detailed approach to the phenomenon of noise in HVAC systems (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), covering everything from the fundamental concepts of acoustics to the calculation methods applied in the design and acoustic performance analysis of ducts, equipment, and accessories. The motivation for this work stems from the lack of in-depth technical literature available in Portuguese on this subject—particularly concerning practical applications, catalog interpretation, typical project cases, and sound propagation calculations throughout ventilation systems. Throughout the study, the main noise sources in HVAC systems are discussed, as well as the effects of noise on acoustic comfort and the strategies for its attenuation. Relevant technical standards are also explored, and a step-by-step method is presented for estimating the sound power level (Lw) across different sections of the system. This article seeks to fill a technical gap in the national literature and serve as a support resource for students, designers, and professionals dealing with challenges related to noise prediction and control in air conditioning systems.
