THE EFFECT OF ZnO AND Fe3O4 NANOPARTICLES ON GERMINATION AND CHLOROPHYLL BIOSYNTHESIS IN WHEAT (TRITICUM AESTIVUM)
This study investigated the effects of zinc oxide (ZnO) and magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles on wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) germination and chlorophyll biosynthesis. Seeds were primed with nanoparticles and grown in sand substrate. Fe3O4 enhanced germination and increased chlorophyll content (total 68.4 µg/L vs. 20.1 µg/L control; chlorophyll b 40.3 µg/L), whereas ZnO suppressed development. Findings indicate that Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles may stimulate wheat growth and photosynthetic activity.
