"THE INFLUENCE OF PARENTAL ATTITUDE ON HINDI LANGUAGE LEARNING MOTIVATION IN CLASS IX STUDENTS OF GUJARAT STATE"

Parental attitude is a significant factor influencing children's academic motivation and language acquisition. In Gujarat, where Gujarati is the primary regional language, Hindi is taught as a second or third language in schools. However, declining interest and performance in Hindi among secondary school students have been observed, often due to a lack of motivational support and the cultural prioritization of English and regional languages. This study aims to investigate the relationship between parental attitudes and the motivation of Class IX students in Ahmedabad to learn Hindi. A descriptive survey-based correlational design was employed, with data collected from 120 students and their parents across four schools in Ahmedabad using structured questionnaires. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between favorable parental attitudes and students' motivation to learn Hindi. The results underscore the importance of parental involvement in language education and suggest the need for awareness programs to enhance Hindi learning motivation.
