Monitoring forest attributes, C-fluxes, and C-stocks using the process-based model 3D-CMCC-FEM

This repository contains code and data used for the paper "Monitoring forest attributes, C-fluxes, and C-stocks using the process-based model 3D-CMCC-FEM" submitted to Ecological Informatics. This research has used plot-level Italian National Forest Inventory (NFI) data, whose use is restricted and authorized only under official agreement with Comando unità forestali ambientali e agroalimentari carabinieri (CUFA) through the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA) and the Italian Academy of Forestry Science, for research purposes only. In particular, the exact coordinates of the field plot can not be shared. Instead, we shared the stand-level information about each plot (including age, species composition, diameter, height, and tree density). All other information and data related to the exact coordinates are only available through the procedure specified above. For this reason, most of the codes are not reproducible sensu stricto, but can be used to follow the rationale of the research step-by-step, and can be used to reproduce the research using other open datasets. All the other data will be made available upon request, including the model's output and input and all data used for validation and comparison for which the access is open.
