DIGITAL TWIN no Contexto de Dados Abertos: Um Estudo de Caso com 3DCityDB

The last decade has witnessed a significant increase in cities and countries worldwide constructing semantic models of their physical surroundings (Digital Twin). This widespread adoption is driven by the international CityGML standard, developed by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). CityGML serves as an open, XML-based framework designed to capture and exchange comprehensive data about urban and landscape elements. It describes their spatial and non-spatial characteristics, interconnections, and complex hierarchical arrangements, offering five distinct levels of detail. This work discuss challenges, limitations and potential benefits of digital twins through a case study of 3D modelling from 3dCityDB using the CityGML standard at three steps: data collection, physical and digital object interactions and aggregation, using open data of Curitiba (Brasil) managed with PostgresSQL/PostGIS.
