Banana-Bamboo Fiber for eco-friendly Cooling Mats: A Review

The global shift towards sustainable materials has spurred interest in natural fibers like banana and bamboo for innovative applications. This study explores the synergistic combination of banana and bamboo fibers to develop high-performance, biodegradable cooling mats. Banana fibers, derived from agricultural waste, offer excellent tensile strength and moisture absorption, while bamboo fibers contribute natural cooling, antibacterial properties, and breathability. Together, these fibers create an eco-friendly alternative to synthetic cooling mats, which are typically made from non-biodegradable materials like polyester and polyurethane. This paper provides a detailed analysis of fiber extraction, processing techniques, and manufacturing technologies involved in producing banana-bamboo fiber cooling mats.
