Technological Transformation and Territorial Inequality in Urban Peripheries: The Case of Culiacan in the Context of 5.0 Society and 5.0 Industry

This article reflects on the impact of Late Modern Labor Society, 5.0 Society and 5.0 Industry in urban communities on the periphery of Culiacán Rosales, Sinaloa, México. This research identifies trends, causes and consequences of territorial exclusion associated with the technology gap and urban fragmentation from a systematic revision of scientific literature. The methodological approach is qualitative, exploratory-descriptive type. Results revealed structural limitations for the integration of these communities in socio-technological development processes. The concept “intelligent peripheral community” is proposed as a framework for moving forward to more inclusive urban models. This study provides a critical and contextualized view about the link between technology, territory and inequity in the field of urban development.
