Royality Among Slaves - The Stolen Life of Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahima ibn Sori
This scholarly work explores the life of Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahim Sori, a Fulani royal enslaved in America for 40 years before regaining freedom through a remarkable transatlantic diplomatic effort. It traces his legacy through his American descendant, Her Royal Highness Princess Karen Wright Sori Brengettsy-Chatman, who established The Official Royal House of Sori in 1993 and has preserved his legacy for over three decades. The paper distinguishes her work from other groups bearing similar names and documents her recognition by the United States Department of State for humanitarian efforts and historical preservation. Through history, lineage, activism, and global service, this paper contributes a critical narrative of royalty, survival, and purpose in the African diaspora.
