Climate economics and finance: a systematic literature review from macro to micro perspectives
<p dir="ltr">This paper presents a systematic literature review on climate economics and finance, examining the interplay between climate change and sustainable economies across macro, meso, and micro lenses. At the macro level, we analyze systemic risks, market failures, and policy instruments such as carbon pricing. The meso level focuses on financial institutions and instruments that enable climate finance, while the micro level considers corporate strategies, carbon disclosures, and household decision-making. We identify key research gaps, theoretical challenges, and policy implications, emphasizing the urgent need for improved data, advanced risk analytics, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in developing nations. The review concludes with a forward-looking research agenda aimed at fostering climate resilient, low-carbon systems.
