Xyleborus bispinatus Eichhoff 1868
Xyleborus bispinatus Records from various trapping campaigns (2019-2024) confirm the presence of stable populations and occasional captures of this species in Eastern and Southeastern Spain (provinces of Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and Castellón) (Table 1, Figure 1), as previously reported in Gallego et al. (2022). Its distribution range has also been expanded to Mallorca (Balearic Islands) and Southern Spain (Motril, Granada province). Notably, three specimens from Motril were obtained via direct collection from an ornamental Parkinsonia aculeata L. tree (Fabaceae), including a male (Figure 2). This represents the first host plant record for this insect in the Iberian Peninsula, and a new host plant for this species.
