Work Ethics and Etiquette
This paper explores the fundamental concepts of work, ethics, and etiquette through biblical and cross-cultural lenses, examining their interconnected nature and contemporary relevance. The study investigates biblical foundations of work dignity, analyzes Jesus Christ's exemplary model for workplace conduct, and provides a comparative analysis between Western and African work cultures. Particular attention is given to Nigeria's work culture challenges and the development of strategies to enhance work ethics among contemporary youth and society. Through a synthesis of theological principles and cultural analysis, this research demonstrates how biblical work ethics can serve as a transformative framework for addressing contemporary workplace challenges, particularly in developing nations. The findings suggest that integrating Christian work principles with culturally sensitive approaches can significantly improve work attitudes, reduce corruption, and foster sustainable economic development.
