ABSTRACTTyphoid fever, which most commonly affects school-age children,is caused by Salmonella Typhi infection in the small intestine thatenters the bloodstream. This bacterium is transmitted through theconsumption of contaminated water, milk, or food, andsubsequently enters the bloodstream through small ulcers in theintestinal wall. The incubation period of the disease ranges fromone to two weeks. When infected with typhoid fever, patientsgenerally experience discomfort such as weakness, dizziness, andfatigue, followed by clinical manifestations including abdominalpain, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and fever or hyperthermia. The most common symptoms are feverand anorexia, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, andabdominal pain. Nursing care for clients with typhoid feverrequires an intensive approach guided by the nursing process. Themethod used in this study is descriptive, with data collectioncarried out through interviews or anamnesis, physicalexamination, observation, and documentation to obtain primarydata during the assessment stage. Nursing interventions forpatients with typhoid fever included identifying the causes ofhyperthermia, monitoring vital signs, providing education aboutloosening or removing clothing during fever, encouraging oral fluidintake, giving education regarding warm water compresses, collaborating in the administration of intravenous electrolytefluids, and collaborating in the administration of therapeuticfluids. The results showed that hyperthermia was successfullyresolved. Keywords: typhoid fever, Salmonella Typhi, nursing care, hyperthermia.
