The Role of the Military Industrial Complex in Perpetuating the Global War on Terror
This essay analyzes how the U.S. military-industrial complex influenced the Global War on Terror (2001–2016). It examines lobbying practices, defense contracting, and the “revolving door” between government and industry, arguing that corporate incentives often perpetuated inefficiencies and shaped foreign policy decisions. The paper also considers the ethical implications of profit-driven defense procurement and provides a comparative look at European practices, concluding with recommendations for reform.
