Low-Noise Supercontinuum in a Normal Dispersion ZBLAN Fibre Employing a Pump with Cascaded Compression

Using a cascaded compression stage, we have developed a sub-10 femtosecond pump centered at 1.85 μm. We use this to generate a low-noise supercontinuum in a normal- dispersion PM-ZBLAN fibre spanning 0.780-2.716 μm (at -30 dB).
