Non Wearable Smart Mirror for Mental Health Analysis
This study presents an example of a non-wearable smart mirror to analyze mental health, in which capacitive EEG sensors, AI-based facial recognition, and biometric analysis are incorporated to offer a non-invasive and real-time measurement of mental health. On the contrary to the traditional wearable EEG products where most people find wearing them uncomfortable, as well as discouraging them to use them regularly, this smart mirror actively monitors brainwaves and emotional conditions as users continue with their everyday activities. The system identifies the mental states like calm, neutral, or stressed, and mimics serotonin and dopamine levels and presents an EEG like graph to be plotted. One of the major characteristics is the early suicide prevention mechanism, in which an alert is brought about once prolonged stress is identified, prompting the user to consult the medical provider. The smart mirror is also compatible in both personal and clinical environments since it provides downloadable EEG reports to use in additional analysis. Using contactless EEG technology with AI, this project will help tackle the issues of mental health monitoring throughout the world by providing an innovative, stigma-free, and accessible device.
