O Mercado Interno na Formação Nacional: contribuições críticas ao debate historiográfico
This article seeks to discuss the emergence of the "internal market" as an object of study for historiography that focuses on the Brazilian colonial and imperial past, as well as the developments of this subject between the 1970s and 1990s. To this end, we mainly inquiry the works of Ciro Flamarion Cardoso, Roberto Borges Martins e João Fragoso, in order to detail the continuities and ruptures between the first two intellectuals’ perspectives, from the 80s, and Fragoso’s, from 1990s. In this critical context of questioning classical models of the colonial past interpretation and new paradigms consolidation, we assess the internal market’s matter permanence for the historiography and the deviations from the subject’s fundamental issues.
