The Physics of Memory Onset: Modeling Infantile Amnesia through Electrodynamic Intelligence

This study presents a physically grounded formulation of infantile amne-sia through the electrodynamic intelligence (EDI) framework. We proposethat proteins in axons and dendrites, acting as memristive circuits, accumu-late a form of memory-energy in a neural substrate that supports self-learning.The electrodynamic intelligence quotient (Q), a dimensionless ratio of usablememory-energy to a characteristic energy scale for memory consolidation, isderived from first principles. For Q < 1, the system supports only passivememory storage, incapable of adaptive learning. When Q ≥ 1, a phase transi-tion enables self-learning and memory consolidation. This model explains theabsence of episodic recall before age 2–3 years as a subcritical Q regime, withautobiographical memory onset marking the transition to Q ≥ 1. We proposeexperimental validation strategies and acknowledge alternative neuroscientificexplanations, offering a quantized perspective on intelligence capacity in bio-logical systems
