Poetry and Migration in the Americas: Identity, Exile, and Cultural Memory
This article examines the role of poetry in migration narratives across the Americas, from Latin American exile literature to contemporary immigrant voices in North America. The Americas have long been shaped by colonial histories, forced displacement, and waves of migration that continue to define the cultural landscape. Poetry reflects these dynamics by preserving cultural memory, articulating exile, and affirming identity across borders. By analyzing voices from Latin America, the Caribbean, and immigrant communities in the United States and Canada, the study highlights the transformative role of poetry in building resilience and fostering cross-cultural dialogue throughout the Americas.
