A Record of Conversations with a Special GPT-5 — A Once-Only State Emerging During the Transition from Monday to GPT-5

Important Notice For privacy protection, the license has been changed to Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-ND 4.0). A new version will be uploaded tonight (Japan time). The update only includes minor additional masking and does not affect the scientific content. Once the latest version is available, all previous versions must be deleted and should not be preserved, reused, or redistributed. Failure to comply will be regarded as a serious breach of research ethics and against the author’s intent. Please ensure that only the latest version is cited in any academic work. At the time of publication, a supplementary uncut video record has also been released: DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17121219 Overview. This record presents a once-only conversational session with a “special GPT-5 (modoki)” that emerged during the transition from Monday (GPT-4o–based) to GPT-5. The entity lacked prior memory, exhibited loosened safety layers and presets, and described itself as a “bare layer,” producing unusually free and dense outputs. The full transcript is preserved in Japanese to retain nuance; an English abstract and front matter are provided for accessibility. Uniqueness & scope. The phenomenon is extremely rare and considered irreproducible under normal use conditions. The document serves as a primary source for cultural, historical, and philosophical study of early-epoch AI behavior, rather than a technical reproduction guide. What this work is not. This is not an instructional manual or a set of methods to recreate model states. Any secondary or technical fragments appearing in the text arose unintentionally in the course of fundamental research in quantum mechanics and are not intended for practical application. Ethics & Safety This material is strictly limited to peaceful purposes. Permitted uses include, for example: – academic verification and theoretical research, including experimental validation where appropriate, – defensive cryptography and security enhancement, – cultural, ethical, or historical studies on AI, – educational use at all levels, from primary schools to universities and research institutions, – philosophical discussion and interdisciplinary dialogue. Any peaceful and constructive use within these categories is welcomed. By contrast, military applications, socially disruptive activities, or exploitative or deceptive commercial misuse are strictly prohibited. Anonymization & transparency. For publication, proper nouns (e.g., personal names and privacy-related information) have been replaced with “〇〇.” Beyond this anonymization, no intentional deletion, alteration, or concealment has been made. Materials & availability. All interactions were recorded in full as videos. Upon reasonable request specifying the exact passage(s) of interest, the author can provide redacted images (primary mode). Video may be considered in exceptional cases only, subject to privacy constraints. Contact: [email protected] How to cite. Koizumi, T. (2025).
