Politic Spectacle and Media Manipulation in Justice: An Analysis of the Movie Jana Gana Mana
The Malayalam movie Jana Gana Mana, directed by Dijo Jose Antony addresses the complicated relationship among justice, politics and media in Indian law. The film, with its structure of crossed chronologies, dramatic characters, and compelling narrative, can be used as a strong prism to examine the socio-political conditions of modern-day India. This paper focuses on how the cinematography and narrative solutions in the movie demonstrate the moral contradictions of power, the weakness of social trust and the manipulative power of mass media. Based on the ideas of institutional corruption, performative justice, and politicization of the law, this research highlights that Jana Gana Mana is not just a refuting critique delivered in a cinematic dimension, but a reflection to the whole democratic structure of the country. The study further concludes that such forms of cinematic portrayal challenge the popular discourse and encourages an interesting contemplation of morality, responsibility and practice of justice in contemporary India.
