Ethos of Relationality Towards Environmental Protectivity in Amitav Ghosh's Jungle Nama
Nature is highly connected both with human and other non-human inter-relationships. This connection is a glorified one, as it signifies coexistence and cohabitation that are essential for survival. But it is heavily disturbed by developmental ideologies of both modern technologies and anthropocentrism. It further leads the world into the issues of ecological disasters and climate change. In Indian context, Amitav Ghosh’s Jungle Nama celebrates nature. It also addressed the human-caused climate crisis and the challenges of climate change in the Sundarbans, as well as strategies for safeguarding it against the harmful effects of human actions. Consequently, this study focuses on the significance of ethical relationships for survival within the natural world. It also explores how greed and advancements in modern technology challenge and jeopardize environmental protection. This research emphasizes the necessity for human society to alter their harmful behaviors towards the environment in order to preserve a balanced relationship.
