The Knösch Model: A Unified Energy Field Framework for Gravitation and Cosmic Expansion

This report presents the Knösch model, a scalar–tensor framework that interprets both gravitation and cosmic expansion as manifestations of a single reactive cosmic energy field striving for equilibrium. We derive the core equations (“Knösch equation”), demonstrate recovery of General Relativity in the strong-field regime, and show MOND-like phenomenology in weak fields. We then test the model against the Pantheon+ supernova dataset (~1700 SN Ia). A coarse grid search yields best-fit parameters consistent with a ΛCDM-like late-time expansion, while allowing controlled early deviations through a dynamical field term. The fit residuals show no significant tension, establishing that the Knösch model is observationally viable with respect to cosmic expansion. This provides a unified interpretation of gravity and expansion within the same physical mechanism and motivates further tests against BAO, CMB, and weak lensing data.
