Renaissance, Exploring the 'New World'
The present paper aims to show how the Renaissance brought a great leap forward in different types of knowledge and it highlights how the Renaissance led to the opening of new trade, the conquest of foreign territories and the founding of colonies. During that time, religious and economic motives played an important part in the process of exploration. Besides these, political ambition was also a significant force that enhanced exploration. Finally, this paper elaborates on different perspectives and outcomes of the Renaissance and it explores how Renaissance chronicles are characterized by the imposition of European images and values onto an unfamiliar world.
