BeanBag Care Technology Dementia Pilot and The Extended Rehabilitation / Reablement Pilot: External Independent Evaluation [Confidential]

A yearlong pilot was supported by the updated ERYC‘s Private Sector Housing, Housing Assistance policy 2020-2023, a new section regarding funding for Dementia Assistance within the home. A small budget (£50,000) was earmarked within the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) under The Regulatory Reform Order 2002, to provide assistance. The intention was to provide funding of up to £1000 to enable those with a diagnosis or a referral from a relevant health professional or support worker to enable them to remain at home for longer with support from family or others using technology or other adaptations.Concurrent with the pilot an independent external evaluation was commissioned by East Riding Council ( £28,000 + vat) and faculty evaluation team were successful with their tender and undertook this evaluation which started in November 2022 and its extension, and the pilot was completed and reported on in 2024.
