TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF THE MEAN SQUARE MOLECULAR DIAMETER 〈|r _1-r _2 |^2 〉 FOR A SYSTEM OF NON-INTERACTING DIATOMIC MOLECULES IN CLASSICAL APPROXIMATION
A system of non-interacting diatomic molecules is kept in a closed box of volume at an absolute temperature . Assuming the validity of classical statistics, we demonstrate through detailed calculations that the mean square molecular diameter exhibits a functional dependence on temperature, particularly at high temperatures. Additionally, we investigate the thermodynamics of the system, focusing specially on the specific heat at constant volume.
