BREAKING CYCLES: HOW ENTREPRENEURIAL EDUCATION EMPOWERS UNDERPRIVILEGED YOUTH TO ESCAPE INTERGENERATIONAL POVERTY IN INDONESIA
This research paper investigates how early entrepreneurial education serves as a transformative tool for youth empowerment in breaking cycles of intergenerational poverty, specifically focusing on youth from Jakarta, Indonesia. Through the lens of the Pathways to Potential program supported by local entrepreneurial youth development models such as Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI) and Kampus UMKM Shopee Jakarta, this study argues that entrepreneurial knowledge is not merely a business skill but rather a life strategy. It equips the next generation of developing economies with self-efficacy, financial literacy, and future-oriented thinking, allowing them to thrive despite systemic limitations, demonstrating that teaching a child to “fish” early can alter their life trajectory.
