Presentation on the present state of the recording and representation of text-object relationships in the numismatic research data of ikmk.net using an exemplary coin from the late 1st century BC. Despite the diverse use of authority data on persons, corporate bodies, places and numismatic terms, modelling the linking of pictorial and textual information remains a challenge. When exporting data from the IKMK to the LIDO-XML data format, the legend and image description are mapped in the ‘Inscription transcription’ and ‘Inscription description’ elements, which can result in insufficient separation of the textual and pictorial object properties. Therefore, a proposal for an alternative ontological referencing of the metadata for text and image in LIDO was presented. Text-related information can be recorded in the sub-elements ‘Inscription Transcription’ (for the reproduction of the text information) and ‘Inscription Description’ (for the indexing of formalities and special features of the written components); the visual properties of the object should be recorded separately using the LIDO element ‘Subject’, which enables structuring by means of sub-elements such as ‘Concept’, “Actor” and ‘Object’. Jh. v. Chr.
