MENTAL DISORDERS IN CEREBRAL PALSY
The article examines mental development disorders in children with cerebral palsy (CP). These disorders include cognitive impairments (perception, memory, attention, visual-motor coordination, intelligence, speech), residual organic borderline disorders (cerebrosthenic, neurosis-like, psychopathic syndromes), and pathological personality development (accentuated character, mental infantilism). Diagnosis is complicated by combined motor, speech, and sensory pathology. The paper provides differential diagnostic criteria for distinguishing between mental retardation and intellectual disability in CP and emphasizes the importance of integrated rehabilitation approaches, including medical, social, psychological, and pedagogical interventions.
