"SOUTHERN GAS CORRIDOR AND ITS STRATEGIC ROLE AMID EMERGING GEOPOLITICAL REALITIES"
This article analyzes the role of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) in regional and global energy security, Azerbaijan's position in energy diplomacy, and the challenges and opportunities arising from new geopolitical realities. The SGC provides a reliable and alternative route for transporting Azerbaijani gas to Europe, contributing to the reduction of Europe's dependence on Russian gas. The key components of the project South Caucasus Pipeline, Trans-Anatolian Pipeline, and Trans-Adriatic Pipeline hold strategic importance in energy security. The Russia-Ukraine war and changes in the energy market have increased the significance of the SGC, strengthening Azerbaijan’s geopolitical position internationally. Expansion prospects, integration of new gas sources, and synchronization with green energy will play a crucial role in the corridor's future development.
