BlickWinkel - Gastronomie auf dem Ziegeleiareal in Horw

Blick Winkel is the Bachelor thesis of Roman Hadorn, completed in 2025 at the Hochschule Luzern – Technik & Architektur, Institut Innenarchitektur. The project repurposes the former brickworks in Horw-Luzern as a bistro, offering a respectful reinterpretation of the historic site. The focus lies on the former production areas, their industrial character, and the building’s history, particularly the southwest cable car wing, a remnant of the connection to the Pilatus mountain. The spatial concept is based on this angle: lines, alignments, diagonals, and forms reference it and structure the interior. Sightlines, axes, and viewpoints create spatial dramaturgy, inviting users to explore the space interactively. The bistro complements the existing AGZ Ziegelei showroom and serves as a welcoming community meeting point.
