Roman HLIS Cosmology PIT: Maximizing Cosmological Science with the Roman High Latitude Imaging Survey
Overall goal: to develop, implement, and validate a Weak Gravitational Lensing measurement and analysis infrastructure that can process the first year of HLIS data and extract the promised DE science. To achieve this challenging goal we defer non-essential tasks to future work. Lay the foundation that will enable joint analyses with other cosmological surveys of the next decade such as Rubin, DESI, and SO/S4. Our deliverables start from the data sets provided by the SOC, and produce catalogs of calibrated measurements of shear (as well as other relevant quantities), estimates of shear and galaxy correlation functions, and inferences of cosmological parameters derived from these measurements (i.e. a 3x2 analysis). The codes, catalogs, and statistical measurements will all be made public so that other groups can carry out their own lensing, clustering, and cosmological analyses. Prepare analysis with higher order statistics, field level inference, and cross-correlation with other datasets (if allowed by resources).
