The Lost Ideas Mining Protocol (LIMP)™ -Idea Development Arm of the Trace Economy
The Lost Ideas Mining Protocol (LIMP) Whitepaper, is introduced as the idea development arm of the Trace Economy. Built to complement the Proof of Cognitive Work (PoCW) licensing protocol, LIMP systematically discovers, validates, and anchors buried contributions — overlooked posts, local innovations, and systemic solutions lost in the flood of online content. Through a five-layer pipeline (Discovery → Validation → Anchoring → Surfacing → Activation), LIMP ensures that hidden intellectual assets can be retrieved and re-licensed under PoCW, with royalties redistributed through the Trace Economy’s 40/40/20 model. Unlike speculative visions, LIMP can be piloted immediately using current tools: semantic crawlers, embeddings, Zenodo DOIs, blockchain anchoring, dashboards, and manual royalty distribution. The arts sector provides a flagship demonstration: centuries-old problems of artist exploitation, royalties leakage, authentication costs, inflated insurance premiums, and depressed valuations can all be structurally resolved through trace-logging. Beyond the arts, LIMP extends to climate, health, governance, and education, providing a universal recovery and redistribution system for buried brilliance. An open-source implementation pathway is outlined, ensuring LIMP remains interoperable, federated, and inseparable from the Trace Economy protocol.
