Examined type material Paratypes (♂, ♀): SPAIN: labelled as ‘Mallorca, Albufera’; 5 m a.s.l.; 16 April 1975; J. Murphy and F. Murphy leg.; garrigue; CJFM-4583, G7572.2929. Diagnosis Specimens of Z. mallorca can be distinguished from the closely related Z. pseudoelegans by their uniformly dark prosoma and the dark distal tips of the femora (vs bicolour prosoma and pale femora; compare Figures 8A, C and Figures 11A, C), the embolar tip, which is short and straight (vs long and bent embolus; compare Figure 20K and Figure 20N), and a small epigynal plate with a small cavity (vs larger epigynal plate and cavity; compare Figure 25D and 25E, 27D). Description For a detailed description of the habitus and male palp, refer to Bosmans (1994). Epigyne. (Figure 25D) Epigyne with a small, bracket-shaped epigynal plate, anteriorly accompanied by a small, transverse, bean-shaped cavity. Copulatory openings not well visible.
