Osmylus hyalinatus McLachlan 1875

Osmylus hyalinatus McLachlan, 1875 See Winterton et al. (2019, fig. 19); Martins and Price (2020, figs. 12–21). Osmylus hyalinatus McLachlan, 1875, p. 181; Okamoto, 1905: 115; Matsumura, 1908: 39: Navás, 1912: 421; Nakahara, 1914a: 493; 1914b: 516, 1915: 333; Hayashi, 2005: 389; Winterton et al., 2019: 38; Martins and Price, 2020: 18; Iwanami et al., 2021: 369. Type locality: Japan (‘Yokohama’ and ‘Kobé’). Plethosmylus hyalinatus Krüger, 1913: 205; Navás, 1924: 223; 1928: 90; Kuwayama, 1936: 109; 1953: 179, 1954: 95, 1956: 79, 1962: 343; Hirai, 1955: 269; 1956b: 58. Osmylus (Osmylus) hyalinatus Makarkin, 1985: 39, 1990: 37, 1995: 44; Sekimoto and Yoshizawa, 2011: 9. Diagnosis Head yellow; vertex convex; antennae dark brown to black. Pronotum dark brown with a yellow brand median. Fore wing hyaline, without dots; sometimes apex with indistinct transverse marking. Process of male tergum 9 short triangular. Male gonocoxites 9 with two pairs of tubercles, in same size, subtriangular. Female sternum 7 without processes; with anterior branch of tergum 9 short. Spermatheca simple and relatively elongate. Material examined JAPAN: 1♂, Honshu, Sugadaira Kogen [菅平高原], 28.VII.2019,leg. Jishen Wang (CAU). SOUTH KOREA: 1♀, Gyeongsang, Mt. Cheondeung-san, 24.VII.2016, leg. Ding Yang (CAU); 1♀, Jeollanam-do, Hwasun-sun, Changpleng-myeon, Guksebon, 22.VIII.2017,leg. Ding Yang (CAU). Distribution Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu), Russia (Kuanshir Island). Remarks This species is similar to O. wenii sp. n., O. xiaohongae sp. n. and O. zheanus, but there is a significant genetic distance among these species (Table 2). It can be distinguished from O. wenii sp. n. by the absence of dots on the fore wing, while in O. wenii sp. n. there are some dots at fore wing apex, outer gradate series and distal part of M. It differs from O. xiaohongae sp. n. by having a shorter anterior branch of female tergum 9, whereas O. xiaohongae sp. n. has a long anterior branch. It is distinguished from O. zheanus by the absence of processes on female sternum 7, while O. zheanus has three processes on the female sternum 7.
